Summary | 1283: Interface choice for ports on Patchpanels
Description | When i setup a fiber patchpanel, i dont know yet if the port will transer 10GB or 1GB.. Why cant one choice for Interface be like "inherit" and that inherit the same as for whatever i connect to it? As-is you have to choose between empty SFP+ og empty SFP.. But if that changes i need to delete the port and create it again..

This is a known limitation. There are two kind of links: physical links (e.g., from a device to a patch-panel) and channel links between two devices. RT was designed to document only the latter type. There is a posponed work to allow to document patch-panels and physical links, and also to trace physical links into channel ones. When it will be released, it will be done loudly (refer Changelog). |
