| Description | Hello, I'm trying Racktables for a few month now, and there is only a few issues that prevent me to adopt it as a tool to store information about almost all our infrastructure. I have the feeling taht With the VM/Containers section improvements, it becomes more and more necessary to have some copy/cloning feature. In Main:Objects:Some object page, there could be some tab called "clone" or "copy" In this tab, a list of all Object attributes, with a checkbox to allow or not the copy of the attribute By default, Log would not be cloned, By default, IP would not be cloned, By Default, Ports would be cloned (Local Name, Visible Label,Interface) but not L2 Address, Remote object , Cable ID, etc By default, Tags would be cloned By default, File links would not be closed What do you think? | ||||

We have written a plugin for this. It even keeps backend links for patchpanels/cablechains. If anyone is interested in using it or even merging it to the racktables basecode, I'll post it here. Cheers, Max |

Here you go: https://github.com/madmax2012/racktables-contribs/blob/master/local_copy_object.php We've patched this in order to work with racktables 0.20.X just a few months ago.. Until now it copies everything as intended, if you experience any problems just contact me :) Cheers, Max |
