| Summary | 753: Save files in directory | ||||
| Description | Save "Files" in directory instead of MySQL | ||||
| Tags | No tags attached. | ||||
| This is not likely to be implemented. A standalone directory brings issues with security, development and data backups. I will close this request unless you can argue. | |
|
With a lot of files (like I am going to have), the database size will propbably be a problem. Could it be a setting in "Configuration" where you can choose between "File" or "Database" ? |
|
| I understand how it could possible work, but please mind the development/maintenance expenses. If scalability is the only concern, prior experience suggests that a MySQL table should perform as good as a filesystem for up to thousands of files and perhaps many more. Could you test first and if that doesn't work for your case, update? | |
| Excuse me, but I have to close this request. This feature will not be implemented unless someone else is willing to spend the time on this. | |
