i having same problem with that.

i have 5 switch with same platform (cisco 2960 with IOS 12.2)
the first switch has success to show live ports, live CDP, etc.

when i create another switch, live ports, CDP, LLDP blank.

there's no error in error_log. so i can't trace error.

I think this is because the lack of error-throwing code in LLDP/CDP gateways. There could be a plenty of causes: invalid username/password, wrong SW type specified, insufficient permissions on device to view its neighbors and so on. Try tcpdump the CLI communication session and you will likely see what is going wrong.

Here below is the tcpdump session between the devices. I have analysed this through Wireshark there appears to be no issues with the conversation and the transfer of data between devices. The issue appears to be presenting the data in Racktables.

Could you use the "follow TCP stream" Wireshark option (the pop-up menu of a TCP packet) to check for obvious issues in the failed CLI conversations?

Looking into the tcp stream the commands comming from racktables server to access the switch has no username/password and is failing it is using the 'terminal lengh 0' command on the switch as username. What file do i need to edit to allow the switch credentials to be used?
