Summary410: Interface naming problem with live CDP
DescriptionI managed to get SNMP v3 up and running for detection of Live VLAN, then I could also see Live Ports, however when I attempted to run Live CDP, I got the message:

local port remote device remote port
gi1/0/49… c7206VXR-R08.mydomain.com gi0/2
No such local port gi1/0/49

gi1/0/50… c3750g-48-R08-sw1.mydomain.com gi1/0/50 No such local port gi1/0/50

I run Cisco WS-C3750G-48TS-S with IOS c3750-ipservicesk9-mz.122-53.SE

Remark: "mydomain.com" is a sanitized version.

Are ports "gi1/0/49" and "gi1/0/50" present on the "Ports" tab?

No, there is nothing on Ports tab.
I thought it was suppose to be added automatically via SNMP, no?

This problem is not specific to the CDP feature. And it is not related to "Live VLANs" feature in any way. And, finally, it is the responsibility of "SNMP sync" feature to discover device ports. Once the latter isn't working correctly, this is purely a bug of SNMP code.

Looks like you're right, something is wrong with SNMP.
I tried again SNMP sync, and I am getting

Unknown OID '9.1.516'

This object has no ports listed, that's why you see this form. I can try to automatically harvest the data. As soon as at least one port is added, this tab will not be seen any more. Good luck.

Any idea what is wrong?

9.1.516 OID stands for a series of stackable Cat3750 models, which the current SNMP code is just not designed to handle. I can only suggest using "add multiple ports" helper form, which can be enabled in the UI config.

Is there any documentation on how to use it? I am not getting any automation here, even if I add all ports by hand on this switch. And now I also lost everything in Live VLAN, Live Ports...

To enable the helper: Configuration -> User interface -> Change -> Enable "Add/update multiple ports" form == "yes"

This will add an extra form to the "Ports" tab of an object, with "start" and "count" inputs. Also, the "Local name" becomes a printf-styled format ("gi1/0/%u" in your case).

I hope that helps.
